At Olympus, we are deeply committed to education and supporting the next generation of young leaders. The Olympus Energy Scholarship is open to students who are residents of nine counties in the region, including: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland.

The annual academic scholarship provides up to $10,000 (a $2,500 annual distribution that is renewable up to three years) for students pursuing a career in a STEM-related program. To be eligible, students must:

  • Be a high school senior at the time of application with a GPA of 3.0 or higher;
  • Identify as Black, African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Hispanic, Latino, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander; and
  • Enroll as either a part-time or full-time undergraduate studying at an accredited two- or four-year university or vocational-technical school.

We proudly awarded the scholarship to the following students:

  • Isaiah Brown is a graduate of Armstrong High School in Kittanning. He will attend Slippery Rock University in the fall to study physical therapy.
  • Sharon Chen is a graduate of Hopewell Senior High School in Aliquippa. She will attend Pennsylvania State University to study biochemistry and molecular biology.
  • Elli-Anne Laing is a graduate of South Park High School in South Park. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the fall to study biological sciences.
  • Edward Mei is a graduate of North Allegheny Senior High School in Wexford. He will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study computer science under the Turing Scholars Program.

These students are all very accomplished, serving as leaders and role models in their schools, and we wish them all the very best!
